Job Description:
HVAC Commercial Service Technician POSITION SUMMARY : The HVAC
Technician is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance to
a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning,
electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors,
commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans,
economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic
compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air
compressors, air driers. REASONABLE ACCOMODATION STATEMENT : To

disabilities to perform the essential functions. SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES : None. Duties/Responsibilities : Provides
preventive maintenance on heating and cooling systems.
Troubleshoots units that are not working and replaces parts that
are defective. Performs related work as assigned. Installs
refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, pneumatic control, and
humidity control systems. Understanding and troubleshooting
knowledge of the following: · Rooftop Units · Walk-in and reach-in
Freezers and Coolers · Air Handling Units · Boilers and Chillers ·
Cooling Towers · VAV Boxes · Variable Frequency Drives Build strong
customer relationships and build knowledge and understanding of new
and existing customer needs/expectations Work Environment: ·
Exposure to hot, cold, and inclement outdoor weather conditions ·
Frequent noise and occasional poor ventilation or hazardous
conditions · Tasks performed in both indoor and outdoor commercial
settings · Occasional work in small or enclosed spaces Requirements
Qualifications: Minimum 7 yrs experience specific to the commercial
HVAC industry Knowledge of the theory, methods, practices, tools,
and equipment of the trade. Possess own basic hand tools Universal
EPA Certified. Knowledge of the operating principles and
characteristics of the various types of refrigeration,
pneumatic/ddc control, and air conditioning systems. Knowledge of
basic electricity and control systems. Ability to apply the theory,
technique, principles, and processes of the HVAC mechanic's trade.
Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints,
specifications, and schematics Essential Physical Requirements: ·
Frequent climbing of ladders and access to rooftops or elevated
areas· Frequent bending, kneeling, and working in tight or confined
spaces· Prolonged standing, walking, or sitting during service
calls· Regular lifting and moving of equipment and tools up to 50
lbs; occasional lifting up to 100 lbs· Repetitive use of hands,
wrists, and fingers when using tools or equipment· Use of hand and
power tools; occasional operation of vehicles or heavy equipment·
Clear verbal communication and interaction with team members and
clients
