Responsible for the audit, analysis and resolution of patient
accounts and processes in regards to patient access and billing
procedures. Provides backup coverage to the cashier/ Financial
Counselor and assists in the preparation of daily cash and

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Prepares and reconciles main deposit, credit card and ECA logs.
Correct all discrepancies and forward to treasury management
2.Ensures the accurate and timely compilation, distribution and
maintenance of various interdepartmental reports, internal
collection log, and other special reports as assigned.
3.Review and works on --Missing Order --report. Resolves issues (If
4.Updates and corrects changes to patient types, admit, discharge
and observation dates as needed based on requests made by HIM,
Transaction Control and Case Management.
5.Serves as a back up to cashiers and when needed.
6.Contact in house patients to notify patient portions that are due
and collect as needed
7.Provide assistance to main registration area as required
8.Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement

11.Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents
promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.
12.Perform other duties as assigned.
High School graduate, Two years college is required.
Will consider 2 years of related work experience in lieu of
Minimum of 4 years of customer service experience required
Two or more years experience with patient accounts and collections
in a healthcare setting required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Managed Care requirements
Knowledge of Hospital Information Systems, HBOC McKesson
Ability to multi task, manage fast paced and stressful
Effective communication skills (Written and Verbal) in English
required, bilingual is a plus

to unanticipated patient volume / activity
