We are currently seeking a Principal Pipeline Engineer with a
specialty in pipeline construction to join our team. This position
has excellent growth potential and will provide the successful
individual the opportunity to be part of the strategic direction of
the business.
The primary responsibilities of the Principal Pipeline Engineer
consist of, but are not limited to:
---Extensive knowledge and experience in pipeline construction
---Development of pipeline Construction Execution Plan
---Development of pipeline construction specifications
---Recommend construction methods for installation of pipeline at
variety of crossings
---Support permitting activities and associated deliverables
---Support land acquisition activities and associated
deliverables
---Support regulatory activities and associated deliverables
---Cost-effective solutions for evaluating options for pipeline
construction
---Mentor intermediate and junior pipeline engineers and provide
in-house technical expertise to other disciplines
---Support proposal development and estimating manhours
---Development and maintenance of scopes of work and associated
schedules
---Implementing corporate quality standards on projects to maintain
quality and timeliness of deliverables (drawings, calculations,
etc.)
---Collaboration with project management/engineering staff to
achieve project objectives
---Risk identification and mitigation
---Coordination with other disciplines and companies including
construction, contractors, surveyors, fabricators, etc.
Basic Job Requirements
---Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in
engineering field of study and sixteen (16) years of work-related
experience; a recognized professional certification or registration
in the applicable field, if required; some locations may have
additional or different qualifications in order to comply with
local requirements
---Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include
but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors,
contractors, and visitors
---Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the
job
---Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local,
state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
---Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and
time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications
---Professional registration and membership in technical
society
---Advanced knowledge of discipline codes and standards, commercial
availability and cost of materials
---Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting
---Managing and leading a large project
---Project set-up, developing control-level schedules, progress
reporting and project close-out
---Practical field experience
---Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of
word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation
programs
Other Job Requirements
The successful candidate will have good organizational skills and
well-developed problem-solving skills. You must also have a proven
ability to generate and foster client relationships while working
in a fast paced and competitive business environment.
In addition you:
---Have knowledge of ASME B31.4 and ASME B31.8
---Have knowledge of International Pipeline Standards
---Knowledge of GIS and its application to pipeline design
---Strong Knowledge of pipeline construction
---Value safety in both personal conduct and application in
design
---Detail oriented with first-class leadership and motivational
skills
---Are committed to working in a team environment, with established
team building abilities
---Are committed to sharing knowledge and mentoring team
members
---Have excellent time management, interpersonal and communication
skills
