Commercial Banking is structured with three regions, East, Central and West, in addition to a Specialized Industries group and Chief Operating Officer Team. The Commercial Banking team is comprised of experienced and accomplished relationship managers and industry specialists working together to bring the full range of Wells Fargo's services to customers from offices across the United States and Canada.The IRE Advisor/Relationship Manager within Commercial Banking is focused on supporting the sales efforts and managing the analysis of risk associated with investor real estate loan transactions. - The Commercial Banking Investor Real Estate group is responsible for aiding the line teams with business development including customer prospecting and joint customer calling, underwriting and structuring transactions, performing due diligence review, credit administration, ongoing portfolio monitoring, assisting with loan bookings, all the while maintaining a high level of integrity and service quality.Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Broadly consult on all significant investor real estate loans within a Division
  • Collaborate with Division and Market leadership to create and assist in executing business plans and marketing strategies for investor real estate lending
  • Lead the sales and calling efforts of the line teams within their respective Divisions in regards to investor real estate lending
  • Assist in uptiering efforts of their respective Division to increase investor real estate lending activity - this may include regular training of line teams
  • Market Research (i.e. obtaining market comparables / identifying trends affecting submarkets)
  • Generate presentations to support marketing efforts
  • Analyze, underwrite and document project information for investor real estate loan requests
  • Prepare Real Estate Analysis reports
  • Assist with ongoing portfolio monitoring of investor real estate loans within their respective DivisionIdeal candidate will reside within the Division they support.Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

    Required Qualifications
    • 7+ years of account management experience, sales experience, or a combination of both

      • Account relationship management experience
      • Strong credit analysis skills
      • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of commercial or specialty group: lending, loan servicing, products, and credit practices
      • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of negotiating: interest rates, price, terms, and collateral requirements
      • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of risk management
      • Experience consistently delivering strong sales performance
      • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
      • Strong organizational, multi tasking, and prioritizing skills

        Other Desired Qualifications
        • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships;
        • Ability to actively participate in the successful completion of complex transactions;
        • Ability to interact effectively and confidently with senior management and credit administration;
        • High level of initiative and accountability
        • Knowledge of the local commercial real estate markets specific to their respective Division
        • Extensive commercial real estate credit underwriting experience
        • Thorough knowledge of Wells Fargo real estate specialty groups and capabilities
        • 5+ years of direct relationship management experience

          Job Expectations
          • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
