Position Overview:The Global Edge is an award-winning recruitment agency connecting projects worldwide with the industry's most talented project professionals. Our team is currently looking for a Quality Systems Engineer for the largest provider of dredging services in the US.
This position's primary responsibility is to ensure all project activities adhere to the contract specifications while maintaining compliance with all applicable safety and quality standards, all applicable laws and regulations. The role of the Quality Systems Engineer (QSE) requires review and quality checks of activities performed under a project's defining features of work (DFWs), including mobilization/demobilization, dredging, material disposal/fill operations, survey, environmental monitoring, etc.
The QSE will take responsibility for contract reporting and maintain contract compliance through meetings, trainings, contract deliverables, and applicable follow-up checks as necessary. The QSE will liaise with the client representatives and coordinate with local stakeholders to ensure a transparent and positive collaboration through the duration of the project. Additional duties and responsibilities will be required through the duration of the project.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:

  • Completing QC Daily Report Packages
  • Coordinating LNTMs/Pilot Updates
  • Inputting equipment and inspections into RMS
  • Compiling and submitting contract submittals
  • Coordinate with APE/PE to ensure the quality of required contract deliverables and to verify and document required equipment calibrations (i.e. drag head calibration, dredge positioning system, survey equipment, draft checks, monitor over digging/dredge depth, etc.)
  • Oversee, report and document project environmental effort.
  • Conduct QC meetings, perform the three phases of control, perform submittal review and approval, and provide QC certifications and documentation required in the contract.
  • The QSE with the approval of and in conjunction with the Project Manager will promptly complete and furnish serial letters, material submittals, shop drawing submittals, schedules, and all other project documentation required by the contract, and shall be responsible to maintain these documents and records at the site at all times.
    Qualifications (Education, Experience and Skills):Education and Certifications: College level degree in engineering, construction management or other related field; USACE Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification
    Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office and Primavera scheduling software. Competency in USACE Resident Management System (RMS 3.0) and AutoCAD. Great communication and technical writing skills.
    Experience: Experience in hydrographic and topographic survey operations. Three years experience and/or quality control experience in heavy or marine construction, preferably dredging, beach nourishment, site reclamations, and earthwork. Production analysis/monitoring and management experience. Management experience in dredging operations.
    Work Conditions: Position will require extensive travel; rotation schedule of two weeks on and one week off (14 days on and 7 days off).COVID-19 Vaccine required.
