Overview Texas Oncology is looking for a Pre-Services Coordinator to join our team! This position will support the Sugarland, TX location. This is a full-time Monday-Friday position with no weekends, or major holidays. What does the Pre-Services Coordinator do? Under general supervision, the Pre-Services Coordinator is responsible for pre-registering new patients for hospital follow-up and consults. Maintains patient records, prepares forms, verifies information and resolves routine and non-routine problems. Follows standard procedures and pre-established guidelines to complete tasks. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: Answers incoming calls and asks appropriate questions to assess patients' needs. Schedules new patient appointments with appropriate provider. Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions to patients. Records call statistics in New Patient Log. Maintains and updates physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly. Works in conjunction with the triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests. Obtains patient demographic, insurance and other pre-visit required information. Enters patient information into computer systems. Verifies patient's insurance eligibility and benefit coverage/co-pays with payer; verifies pre-authorizations are completed prior to patient visit. Establish and maintain good working relationships with physicians. Qualifications The ideal candidate for the Pre-Services Coordinator position will have the following background and experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred. Minimum 3 years of medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required. Must have experience with insurance verification and referrals. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required.
