To execute our mission to become the leading Controls Solution Provider in North America, we are seeking an EHS & Facilities Manager for partnering with a site operations team to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations and ensure that buildings and services accommodate business requirements across the Americas.

DUTIES/RESULTS

SAFETY:

  • Responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our employees
  • Demonstrates the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and inspire change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis
  • Focus on insurance procurement, claims management, contract reviews and the anomalous "Risk"
  • Instructs and trains leaders and managers in Yokogawa safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards across all sites
  • Identifies best practices and incorporates these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously improve the safety landscape
  • Provides excellent safety program knowledge as well as environmental and ergonomic knowledge and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with operations
  • Possesses a thorough understanding of local/regional regulations and company policy
  • Provides guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Safety Policies
  • Measure sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies
  • For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies
  • Along with Legal team, represents Yokogawa on all Workers Compensation (WC), OSHA and EPA regulatory and litigation issues
  • Delivers on-time and quality projects to Operations
  • Analyzes safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate resources to areas where the safety risk is highest
  • Performs frequent site safety audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site
  • Audits record-keeping practices and alignment with global safety standards and local regulations
  • Audits the workplace organization and employee behaviors to ensure that training, auditing and scoring methods are accurate and consistent

FACILITIES:

Cleaning

  • Manages facility cleaning contracts with vendors for all Facilities (GA & TX)
  • Assists with large project scheduling (floor waxing, carpet cleaning, etc.) of the cleaning vendor crews

Vending

  • Manages vendor relationships & contracts/break room facilities
  • Oversees vendor selections and product offerings

Building repairs and upgrades

  • Manages current floor plans and layout for all Facilities (GA & TX)
  • Assists Director and Executive VP of Operations with layout changes/recommendations for additions, etc.
  • Leads on vendor selections for contracted upgrades, working closely with the project team/manufacturing/ or related areas
  • Schedules and oversees small facility repairs or upgrades utilizing in-house staff
  • Contracts and oversees larger facility repairs for environmental services (HVAC/Plumbing/Electrical, Roofing, etc.)
  • Assists in planning projects by giving input based on their own or past experience.

Inventory

  • Manages inventory of facility supplies (light bulbs, paint, etc.) for facility upkeep

Grounds

  • Manages lawn care contracts with vendors
  • Manages parking lots for safety concerns, escalating to the safety committee
  • Manages parking lot condition and coordinates with vendors for repairs, modifications as necessary
  • Maintains building faade appearance escalating repair or modification requirements to Executive VP of Operations

Security

  • Manages current security systems in conjunction with IT
  • Manages Periodic Maintenance of security equipment of facilities

Budgeting

  • Assists director and Executive VP of Operations with budgeting process
  • Reviews PM of facility systems (HVAC, Security, Roofing, Plumbing, Electrical, Lay out) and makes recommendations for repair/replacement for the fiscal budget period.
  • Performs and coordinates other duties as required or assigned

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the environment is reasonable. Physical Demand: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, lift and sit. The employee is required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include depth perception, ability to adjust focus, close vision, and color vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

SPECIFICATIONS

Typically BS degree and 10+ years of progressive experience in (EH&S) safety and facilities management. Work experience may be credited for a degree where appropriate. Work credit may be given for Advanced Degree. Education: Preferably in a field that offers an opportunity to gain a well-rounded background. Management courses in supervision techniques are preferred or equivalent. Experience and/or certification in OSHA compliance, HVAC, Hydraulics, and safety management. Must possess a proven track record of success. Experience working in General Industry, Heavy manufacturing, or Industrial industries is strongly preferred. A proven leader, with strong communication skills who can engage with internal & external stakeholders alike. Must possess at least one of the following Safety-related Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP); Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH); Registered Professional Engineer (PE), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) and/or other safety certification programs is preferred.

Limited Travel required.

Note: Technical and managerial requirements can be waived at the discretion of the department manager.
