Job Description:

This position supports all functions associated with the administration of the company's employee benefits. The incumbent in this position coordinates and supports all aspects of employee benefits, including, but not limited to: health insurance, dental, vision, voluntary life insurance, short term disability (STD), long term disability insurance (LTD), flexible spending account plans, employee assistance program (EAP), company wellness initiatives, 401K and accounts reconciliation. This position is the Company's point of contact for all employee benefits assisting with employee insurance benefit inquiries and claims resolution issues

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefits enrollments, inquiries, issues, claims, and other administrative functions relating to benefits. Assist employees regarding benefits to claim issues and plan changes; enroll employees with carriers and process life status changes
  • Coordinate and correspond with various internal and external customers, such as carriers and benefit plan administrators (external); employees, supervisors, and managers (internal).
  • Responds to retirement account inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, and contribution amounts; manages the annual catch-up contribution enrollment.
  • Maintains and processes benefit forms, records, and correspondence
  • Reviews verify, and updates employee's eligibility and enrollment data in HRIS and carrier sites as needed
  • Participates in the support and coordination of annual open enrollment
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Timely processing of forms, such as Medical Child Support Orders (QMCSOs)
  • Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance
  • Provides support to the field employees and supervisors with basic interpretation of HR policies and procedures relating to benefits
  • Assists with preparing employee benefits and employment verifications request as needed
  • Works collaboratively and urgently with other departments (e.g. payroll) to resolve problems
  • Assists with new projects and/or initiatives as assigned in any/all HR competency areas.
  • Compiles, organize, summarize, prepare and/or analyze data for designated projects. Research issues related to assigned projects. Distribute reports and when necessary interpret reports to the necessary parties
  • Provide ongoing support to locations regarding Benefits Enrollment, Open Enrollment as needed.
  • Provide support to the benefits team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws, including, but not limited to Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc.

Qualifications:

General Qualifications:

  • 32+ years related benefits administration experience, or generalist role
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Advanced computer skills including the use of Windows and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
  • Working experience and general knowledge of benefit plans.
  • Experience with UltiPro and/or other HRIS and Payroll systems a plus.
  • Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, employees, and external vendors.
  • Advanced math skills including accounting preferred.
  • Ability to prepare complex written reports and other documents.
  • Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.
  • Eligible to work in the United States

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate effectively in English

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Computer Skills:

  • Advanced computer skills including the use of Windows and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
