Member Advocates  are responsible for first - level response and resolution of escalated issues with external and internal customers. This role will be a full - time telecommuter position. Must be able to effectively prioritize duties appropriately and possess a high level of organizational and time management skills. Must possess talents that include dealing with difficult people and situations with little or no supervision. Must be flexible and be able to adapt to change quickly and effectively. Primary Responsibilities: Manages overall delivery of benefits and services by providing support and guidance to existing and potential customers to ensure continued membership P rovides expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and / or providers I dentifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgment I nvestigates claim and / or customer service issues as identified and communicate resolution to customers Positions in this function are responsible for first-level response and resolution of escalated issues with external and internal customers Responsible for the overall delivery of benefits and services by providing support and guidance to existing and potential customers to ensure continued membership Analyzes and investigates Provides explanations and interpretations within area of expertise You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED (or higher) 2+ years of Client Account Management experience 3+ years of experience with persons receiving Texas Medicaid benefits and services Experience with Microsoft Word (ability to create / save / edit documents), Microsoft Excel (ability to create / save / edit presentations) and Microsoft Outlook (ability to send emails and calendar management) Must be knowledgeable of community resources, local organizations, and services that assist the Aging, Blind, and Disabled population that we serve Ability to travel up to 25% of the time Ability to work a split shift on a rotating schedule to provide support to UHC Customer Service agents; UHC Call Center hours are 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, Monday to Friday Preferred Qualifications : Associate’s Degree (or higher) 1+ year of Project Management experience B ilingual in Spanish and English UNET, COSMOS, FACETS or NICE claims platforms experience Microsoft PowerPoint experience (ability to produce and display a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation) Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to quickly build rapport and respond to customers in a compassionate manner by identifying and exceeding customer expectations (responding in respectful, timely manners, consistently meeting commitments) Demonstrated ability to listen skillfully, collect relevant information, determine immediate requests and identify the current and future needs of the member Proficient problem solving approach to quickly assess current state and formulate recommendations Proficient in translating healthcare-related jargon and complex processes into simple, step - by - step instructions customers can understand and act upon Flexibility to customize approach to meet all types of member communication styles and personalities Proficient conflict management skills to include ability to resolve issues in a stressful situation and demonstrating personal resilience Careers at UnitedHealthcare Community & State.
