About the Role: The Porter at Texas Marine - Beaumont plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by providing essential support services. This position involves maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the premises, which directly impacts the overall customer experience. The Porter will be responsible for transporting materials and equipment, assisting with loading and unloading, and ensuring that all areas are safe and accessible. By performing these duties efficiently, the Porter contributes to a positive work environment and enhances the productivity of the entire team. Ultimately, the success of this role is measured by the level of service provided to both customers and staff, fostering a welcoming atmosphere at our facility. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, up to 50 pounds. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Great attitude and ability to listen and learn. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a similar role or in a customer service environment. Experience driving a forklift or tractor. Ability to trailer boats and back them up. Basic knowledge of safety and maintenance procedures. Ability to operate basic cleaning and maintenance equipment. Responsibilities: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, including common areas, restrooms, and workspaces. Transport materials, equipment, and supplies as needed throughout the facility. Assist with loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper handling and storage. Monitor and report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel. Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and staff with their needs. Skills: The required skills for this position, such as attention to detail and organizational abilities, are essential for maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Daily tasks will require the Porter to effectively manage time and prioritize responsibilities to ensure all areas are attended to promptly. Preferred skills, like knowledge of safety procedures, will enhance the Porter's ability to identify and address potential hazards, contributing to a safer workplace. Strong communication skills will be utilized when interacting with customers and team members, ensuring that all needs are met efficiently.
