Clean Harbors is actively seeking a CDL Vacuum Truck Driver/Operator who is willing to travel, to enhance our team of environmental specialists. This role involves the safe and efficient operation of vacuum trucks and equipment, ensuring the proper handling and transportation of hazardous materials across North America. As part of our team, you will contribute to our mission of protecting the environment by providing essential emergency spill responses and industrial cleaning services. This job requires a significant amount of travel along with periodic availability for emergency response situations, and is therefore suited for individuals who are adaptable, detail-oriented, and passionate about safety and environmental sustainability. Operate vacuum trucks and equipment to transport hazardous wastes. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of materials; adhere strictly to safety protocols. Maintain logs and records according to DOT standards and company policies. Provide emergency response spill cleanup services as needed. Participate in training and drills to ensure all operations meet health and safety regulations. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure equipment is functional and safe for operation. Collaborate with teams across departments to improve service efficiency and safety. Proficiency in the operation of vacuum trucks and related equipment. Knowledge of hazardous materials regulation and safety practices. Ability to manage logs and records using digital and paper systems. Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and customer interactions. Flexibility to adapt to unscheduled work in emergency scenarios. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance 401k Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker endorsements. Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement preferred. Completion of OSHA safety training and any other relevant environmental health and safety training is highly desirable.
