We are committed to improving patient outcomes, reducing hospital readmissions, and expanding access to wound care across urban and rural communities.We are seeking dedicated and skilled Wound Care Medical Doctors (MDs) to lead mobile wound care services in their designated regions. Whether you prefer major metropolitan areas, suburban communities, or underserved rural regions, we have opportunities aligned with your expertise.At this time, OWP is only considering individuals who will be directly employed by the company. We are not accepting applications from independent contractors, 1099 professionals, third-party companies, recruiting agencies, or staffing firms.Locations HiringHouston & Gulf Coast Region (Sugar Land, The Woodlands, Pasadena, Pearland, League City)Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex (Plano, Arlington, Irving, Garland, Frisco, McKinney)Austin & Central Texas (Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, San Marcos)San Antonio & South Texas (New Braunfels, Schertz, Seguin, Converse)El Paso & West Texas (Las Cruces, Midland, Odessa, Abilene)Rural & Underserved Areas Across TexasOur team covers both urban and rural areas, ensuring that patients across Texas receive high-quality wound care services wherever they are needed.Schedule & Shift OptionsMinimum scheduling requirement: At least two shifts per work week.Shifts: Typically between 7:00 AM 7:00 PM local time (subject to change based on business needs).Full-Time: Minimum 30+ hours per week (includes full benefits package).Part-Time: Minimum two shifts per week (paid sick time accrual available).On-Call & Weekend Coverage: Some on-call or weekend coverage may be required, but team members will typically be notified in advance to ensure personal commitments are not interrupted whenever possible.Why Join Our Expanding Team?Expanding Services Across Texas Join a team that is rapidly growing to meet the need for mobile wound care across the state.Flexible & Independent Work Manage your own patient care schedule with strong clinical and administrative support.Competitive Compensation & Benefits Industry-leading pay, travel reimbursement, and professional development support.401(k) Retirement Plan with Employer Match Available to all team members after 12 continuous months of employment.Full-Time Benefits Package includes:Medical, dental, and vision insurancePaid vacation and sick time accrualsCME reimbursement and training supportPart-Time Benefits include:Paid sick time accrualCareer Development Mentorship, training, and financial assistance for wound care certification (CWSP, CWS).Advanced Clinical Tools Access to EHR systems and workflow-enhancing resources to improve efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic wounds, including venous, arterial, diabetic, pressure, and post-surgical wounds.Perform sharp and excisional debridement, NPWT management, tissue biopsies, and gastrostomy tube care.Monitor healing progress, adjust therapies based on clinical outcomes, and ensure adherence to advanced wound healing protocols.Provide wound care training and preventive education to patients, caregivers, and facility staff.Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.Travel 5070 miles daily to multiple care sites, ensuring seamless patient care across Texass diverse regions.Assist in workflow optimization, team training, and other duties as assigned to support expansion efforts.Qualifications & ExperienceRequiredDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degreeActive, unrestricted medical license in TexasBoard certification in a relevant specialty (Surgery preferred; OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also accepted)Minimum of 36 years of clinical practice in wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialtiesBasic Life Support (BLS) certificationReliable transportation and a valid Texas drivers licensePreferredWound Care Certification (CWSP, CWS) or ability to obtain within six monthsDEA registration for prescriptive authority (preferred but not required)Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or home health settingsProficiency with EHR systems and workflow efficiency toolsRegulatory & Compliance Requirements TexasTexas has specific regulations governing the practice of medicine:Prescriptive Authority: Physicians in Texas may delegate prescriptive authority to Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) through a Prescriptive Authority Agreement (PAA). The agreement must be in writing, signed by all parties, and include specific elements such as the nature of the practice and a quality assurance plan.Supervision Limits: A physician may delegate prescriptive authority to a maximum of seven APRNs or PAs, except in practices serving medically underserved populations or facility-based practices.Licensure and Renewal: Physicians must maintain an active, unrestricted medical license in Texas.
