Software EngineerSugar Land, TX ONSITE6-Month CTH
The ToolScope Software Engineer design and develops desktop surface acquisition and control software systems used for communication with oil field service downhole tools when the tools are at the surface for configuration, monitoring, testing and data dumping.
Successful candidates are self-motivated, quick learners, can work independently with little direction and able to make strong decisions. Able to make effective change through strong leadership and mentoring skills. Work well in a team environment and can meet deadlines.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, implement and test the system which satisfy key acquisition system responsivities (functionalities, reliability, performance, others as relevant).
• Ensure integration and abstraction of hardware front-end and instrumentation during design and implementation phases.
• Develop and integrate new features and functions to Toolscope
  Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
  • BS/MS/PhD in Science or Engineering with software experience or education
  • Min. 3 years' experience in a similar position/s
  • C/C++/C#
  • Windows UI design/coding, MFC
  • Unit testing frameworks
  • Visual Studio, VSTS, DevOPS, CI/CD
  • Knowledge of CAN, TCP/IP, COM Standards, WPF
  • Concept of software licensing methods
  • Understand the system view in the context of the acquisition system (physics - sensor/actuator-acquisition/control instrumentation - acquisition software (acquire/control, compute, monitor, workflows)
  • Notions of real-time data and control systems
  • Self-driven, Proactive, Systems Thinking
