Job Description:

ABM is hiring a newly created Director, Payroll Services for our Sugar Land, TX office! -Reporting to the VP, Payroll Services & Entitlements, you will oversee six salaried managers and supervise the organization's North American payroll functions for 125,000+ employees, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. You will manage the payroll processing operations in an outsourced managed service model to ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing and tax payments are provided to all ABM employees. You will be responsible for maintaining high quality internal controls to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory agencies and thorough internal recordkeeping as well as identifying improvement initiatives and recommendations for change by working in collaborative and cross-functional partnerships.
This is a Hybrid Work Arrangement (3 days in-office)!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• 
  
• Project manage the ADP Vantage guiding the payroll team in the planning and implementation of new payroll solutions including defining and managing the testing of new interfaces from HR, multiple Time and Attendance systems and other sources including third parties
  
• Collaborate with HR and IT in understanding enterprise initiatives and providing guidance and expertise in design of service center tools and process efficiency
  
• US/PR - Work with the US cross functional payroll team to support integration strategies, define best practices
  
• Strategy and Roadmap - Work closely with the HR/Finance team to partner on strategic opportunities and enabling technologies
  
• Partner with Accounting and Treasury to verify that all payroll payments are properly recorded in the General Ledger, that all payroll-related accounts are reconciled properly, and that all payments are reflected accurately on each employee's record
  
• Seen as a subject matter expert on all labor and workload-related issues
  
• Negotiate Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with internal and external stakeholders, establishes customer and service-center performance requirements
  
• Responsible for payroll staff training, development, and education
  
• Monitors and reports process performance against KPIs

  QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  
  • 
    
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required
    
  • Active membership and/or professional designation from an established payroll certification organization (e.g., APA, CPA, IPP)
    
  • Experience with ADP and Oracle HCM
    
  • Must be process driven and detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills
    
  • Works with the Payroll Vice President and business in coordination of departmental efforts, objectives and strategic goals
    
  • At least 15 years payroll and accounting experience, including 7 or more years of financial management experience
    
  • Extensive experience with payroll design and implementation
    
    QUALIFICATIONS - SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE

    • Experience building and leading large-scale programs in an agile, iterative fashion, particularly Payroll oriented programs
