Summary Retrospective Wellness Group (RWG) is actively seeking
experienced Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) and Licensed
Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) to join our expanding clinical team
in delivering high-quality mental health assessment and treatment
services under contracts with the Texas Department of Family and
Protective Services (DFPS). As a Licensed Clinical Therapist, you
will provide face-to-face and/or telehealth psychosocial
assessments, mental health evaluations, and therapeutic counseling
for vulnerable individuals and families referred by DFPS through
its Child Protective Services (CPS) and Adult Protective Services
(APS) programs. As a contracted clinician with RWG, you will
support DFPS investigations and service plans by conducting timely,
comprehensive clinical assessments, facilitating trauma-informed
counseling, and preparing professional documentation for legal and
clinical use. This role offers flexible scheduling, autonomy in
clinical delivery, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact
in underserved communities. Key Responsibilities Mental Health
Assessments (APS/CPS Clients) Conduct face-to-face clinical
interviews including mental status exams and psychosocial
histories. Administer assessments for memory, mood, mobility,
medication, and medical history (as required). Evaluate clients
capacity to consent and identify treatment needs. Provide detailed
written assessments and recommendations (submitted within 7
business days for APS, 10 business days for CPS). Complete Exhibit
B documentation for emergency protective services when required
(APS only). Work closely with APS or CPS staff for expedited
evaluations when a client is in immediate danger. Treatment
Services (CPS Clients Only) Provide individual, group, and family
counseling based on an established treatment plan. Tailor treatment
to address: Protective factors of parents/caregivers. Trauma
experienced by children. Behavioral, emotional, and developmental
issues. Maintain monthly progress reports and comprehensive client
documentation. Court Services Testify in court as expert witnesses
or provide depositions related to evaluations and services
provided. Submit records and documentation relevant to legal
proceedings. Documentation & Reporting Maintain complete client
records including: Service authorization forms. Assessment and
treatment documentation. Session logs, start/end times. Missed,
declined, or canceled appointment records. Submit invoices and
reports in compliance with DFPS billing and documentation
standards. Minimum Qualifications Active, unencumbered Texas
licensure as Licensed Professional Counsel (LPC) or Licensed
Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Must be in good standing with the
respective licensing board. Meet DFPS background check
requirements. Experience in clinical assessment and treatment of
vulnerable populations. Ability to work independently and maintain
professional boundaries. Skills & Competencies Strong clinical
judgment and documentation skills. Knowledge of trauma-informed
care and child/family systems. Cultural and linguistic competency.
Flexibility in service delivery (e.g., in-home, in-office,
telehealth). Proficiency in interpreting psychological and social
assessments. Work Conditions Travel may be required to client homes
or court settings. Must respond to referrals within 72 hours and
begin services within 10 business days (CPS). Services may be
scheduled outside of traditional office hours to accommodate
clients.
