Job Description:

The Medical Resort - The Medical Resort is now hiring for an LVN Admissions Coordinator. The Admissions Coordinator position is responsible for assisting current and future residents to find appropriate living options within The Medical Resort Portfolio. Through data collection, documentation review, excellent customer service and hospitality, they will execute all resident admissions, whether long term, short term or respite. This position is also responsible for activities that may generate new applications with a goal of meeting or exceeding budgeted occupancy throughout the community.
Essential Job Duties -
The primary role of the Director of Admissions position oversees admitting department operations and in consultation with Medical Practitioners, Nursing/Clinicians, and Business Office staff, assists with appropriate patient placement and compliance with applicable standards in the completion of preliminary paperwork and confirming that all insurance benefits coverage meets standards of admission as dictated by policy. Works closely with Discharge Planners/Coordinators from acute hospitals and intermediate care facilities, physicians, surgeons, other medical entities, and families for direct admissions in order to assist with the placement of patients.

-Initiates gathering of information from referral sources followed by a pre-admission assessment of the potential resident in person or over phone/computer. This information is then evaluated for the appropriate care setting and the admission process and required paperwork would be completed through move-in.
Assesses the trends within senior living, identifies unmet needs and opportunities for services and communicates these to the team for incorporation into the strategic plan.
Establishes and maintains favorable working relationships with the various discharge planners, all organizations within the Community that serve the elderly population as well as staff, residents and visitors.
Prepares periodic reports that quantify admission activities and/or movement within the continuum of care. -
Follows up on inquiries and offers information packets and/or tours of the Community.
Conducts tours of the facility. Will need to accommodate occasional evening and weekend tours with the support of the marketing team.
Assist Marketing as needed with communication to individuals on the wait list to keep them informed of events and openings within the Community.
Receives prospective resident referrals and verifies financial eligibility, and takes the appropriate action based upon information received.

Education/ExperienceLVN license preferred. In absence of LVN license, would consider candidate with over 5 years of senior living management experience with admissions.

Exhibits a sincere desire to work with older adults, and has a growing understanding of the aging process and memory loss.
Ability to relate effectively with older adults and their families.
Excellent communication skills to include: written; oral; public speaking; listening; and non-verbal.
Works independently with little supervision and is sensitive to the needs of many constituents. Uses sound judgment and diplomacy in performance of duties.
