Job Description:

Typical Services Projects This role will manage the following typical projects delivered through the services organization. A typical project duration is 6 months while some projects can extend up to 18 months. * System Upgrades: Revision upgrades on DCS, SIS, SCADA, Plant Historian, Advance Process Control, Operator Training Simulator. Most upgrades are performed online. * Controller & I/O migration: Replacement of obsolete controller and I/O. * Network security implementation * Advance Process Controls implementation. * Operator Training Simulator implementation. DUTIES/RESULTS: Manages all project planning; i.e., works with customer and project team to clearly define scope and ensure clarity of project technical schedule and budget requirements, performs billing and cash flow planning, implementation plan with time lines, ensures complete understanding of customer needs by key personnel, shares information with team members; responsible for developing and maintaining required project records. Maintains consistent updates of project plan, budget and schedule. * Manages cost reduction on projects while improving customer satisfaction. * Consistently deliver quality projects following the company project execution methodology and standards. * Responsible for contract growth through change order management and development of customer relationships to broaden/expand scope of work based on customer's needs or expectations. * Maintains awareness of project progress; i.e., addresses any problems on a timely basis; conducts project progress meetings; attends selected design reviews; monitors progress vs. plan; provides status reports to manager and customer; ensures change orders are properly quoted, negotiated and executed; assures execution is in accordance with unit procedures and proper methodologies. * Responsible for contract compliance, including all terms/conditions scope, financial, insurance, etc. Responsible for improving cash position of each contract within terms/cancellations of contract. * Develops and oversees project completion and site mobilization plan; i.e. ensures integrity of final system; conformance to contractual requirements, system acceptance by customer, delivery of specified system documentation and services; controls expenses and defines completion plans for personnel; ensures orderly transfer of project to Customer Service for long-term support; responsible for archiving project records, documentation, system tapes, and transfer of customer-accepted system with required documentation for warranty services and maintenance. * Serves as Yokogawa's primary contact and focal point to the customer during the project; i.e., provides interface between Yokogawa and the customer, involves other Yokogawa personnel as appropriate; prepares all required reports; arranges joint Yokogawa/customer project meetings; ensures customers are aware of evolving system characteristics; resolves any miscommunication; ensures customer satisfaction is maintained; makes periodic job site visits. * Works with or acts as Proposal Manager on customer requirements; i.e., reviews RFP (Request for Proposal) and specification, coordinates with sales and marketing to determine scope of work and is responsible for scope definition, prepares and/or approves all cost estimates, develops preliminary implementation plan, may assist in the estimating, proposal, and sales process, controls final negotiations on engineering/construction project. * Performs various management duties; i.e., provides data for Yokogawa reports; keeps sales and marketing aware of customer interfaces; ensures project team members have the equipment, facilities, training, personnel and authority necessary to meet their objectives; interfaces with Accounting, Purchasing, H.R., as necessary. * Depending on the project type and scope, the Project Manager may need to perform some of the engineering tasks. Project Manager II Skills: * Manages multiple (1-12) projects. * Works independently of supervisor in most cases; communicates results to management; solicits support/advice/assistance when required to ensure/protect contract activities are consistent with procedures and customer requirements. * Works directly with sales team members; makes sales support calls as required. * Negotiates changes/Change Orders as required to meet Yokogawa and customer goals, with supervisor approval on all critical changes. * Tracks/manages and reports all financial variables to management. * Implements business unit procedures, re-working tracking, documentation requirements, etc., as required to fulfill project/contract obligations. * Develops skills/abilities for negotiations, including strategies, costing, scheduling, etc. Education: B.S. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or similar degree, or equivalent experience. Prior Experience: Four (4) to eight (8) years in digital process control systems integration, with prior experience to have included some limited management of engineering/technical staff. #LI-KL We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States, however, we are not able to sponsor visas.
