ABB is seeking a SCADA Project Engineer for its Sugar Land, Texas location. This role is identification/development of detailed solutions for clients using ABB Network Manager Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition SCADA/EMS/DMS Products. This role is also responsible for the specification, overseeing the installation and configuration of ABB software on the customer's deliverable system and to manage the Testing phases of the delivery projects. Key success factors include: ability to work closely with the customer's technical team and IT departments, rigorous attention to detail, and commitment to high quality. 2018-12-19 Senior professionals ( > 5 years of work experience) Tasks: Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following: * Requirements gathering and Specification of ABB Network Manager multitier applications (i.e. SCADA/EMS/DMS) * Process customer data to create Electric System Data Models in order to meet the Customer requirements * Prepares and manages execution of Test Plans for Factory Acceptance testing. * Prepares test scenarios to exercise system sizing and performance. * Coordinates all phases of Testing including the scheduling of testers and Reporting. * Works directly with the Customers to demonstrate system functionality. * Prepares and Performs customer training and/or workshops. * Interfaces with the Ventyx Project Managers, System Integrators, Business consultants and other members of the Professional Services Organization to effectively build, test and commission Network Manager Systems to new and existing customers. * Strives for continuous improvement of methods, processes, productivity and quality, while reducing costs. Requirements: Basic Qualification: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of Experience with SCADA systems in the Electric Utility industry including SCADA Data modeling. * Candidates must already have a work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the United States. Preferred Qualification: * A thorough understanding of real time SCADA systems within the electric utility industry including at a minimum. * SCADA Data Modeling * Data Acquisition Protocols, at a minimum: DNP3, (IEC870-5-101/104), ICCP (TASE.2). * Alarms & Events handling * Real Time and Historical Calculations. * Knowledge of Oracle RDBMS systems. * Knowledge of one or more scripting languages such as Perl, PowerShell, bash, ksh, csh. * Knowledge of Application Lifecycle management processes and tools, (Change management, Software Configuration Management, Software Testing, Issue Management, etc) * Ability to prepare and conduct technical training to customer personnel, in a clear and communicative manner. * Ability to work within established procedures, methodology and guidelines on a continuous basis. * Ability to improve established procedures, methodologies and guidelines. * Strong technical writing and editing skills. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Travels - 25% of the time as needed to fulfill responsibilities.
