POSITION TITLE: PRINCIPAL HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL (2020-2021)

Master's Degree
LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Minimum of 3 years of successful experience as a classroom teacher,
preferably on the level assigned
Minimum of 3 years of successful administrative experience on the
campus or central office level

The position requires occasional walking, standing, sitting,
bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and
lifting/carrying work related items weighing less than 40 pounds,
such as books, papers and presentation materials. The employee is
regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects,
tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance
at conferences and professional development is required. Work
involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety
precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May
work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain
emotional control under stress.
Work may involve maladaptive student behavior and may require
intervention and/or restraint techniques. Work is subject to
deadlines and may require tailoring programs to meet the needs of
many divergent groups. Must be able to handle stressful situations
as necessary, communicate effectively (verbal and written),
multi-task, meet deadlines and respond appropriately to
supervision. Travel may be required to attend meetings
school-related events. JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY The Principal MS/HS
Summer School, under the general direction of the assistant
superintendent, will administer the instructional, support, and
operational functions of a school; manage the staff, program and
physical resources; and perform related division-wide
administrative duties as required and/or assigned.-- ESSENTIAL
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES May be required to perform other related
duties as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual
must be able to perform each of the above essential duties
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities, required unless otherwise
stated as preferred. Reasonable accommodations may be made to

functions. --- Supervise and direct the summer school programs
--- Assume responsibility for the implementation and observance of
all Board policies and regulations by summer school personnel and
students
--- Assume responsibility for the safety and administration of the
school facilities
--- Assist in the recruiting, screening, recommending, hiring,
assigning, evaluation, supervision and payroll of professional and
paraprofessional summer school staff on assigned campus
--- Attend Skyward training for scheduling students and running
reports (i.e., grades and progress reports), attend Budget/Payroll
training, and plan for and conduct registration for summer school
(includes scheduling of students)
--- Delegate authority to qualified personnel to assume
responsibility for summer school in the absence of the summer
school principal
--- Schedule summer school time efficiently to conduct school
instruction and business
--- Maintain a high standard of student conduct and enforce
discipline as appropriate based on District rules
--- Assume responsibility for the transportation, attendance,
progress, and conduct of summer school students in all programs on
site and supervise/monitor the staff in the maintenance and
reporting of accurate records for students
--- Supervise the preparation of all summer school reports for the
district office
--- Assume responsibility for all information reported to central
office and serve as a liaison between the summer school campus and
the administration building
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
--- Carry out supervisory responsibilities for the faculty and
staff of the assigned campus in accordance with the District's
policies and applicable laws.
--- Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct
work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees;
address complaints and resolve problems in a timely manner
