THE ABM ENTERPRISE SHARED SERVICES CENTER IS A FAST-PACED, TRANSACTION PROCESSING UNIT FOR THE ABM GROUP OF COMPANIES.-- THIS POSITION APPLIES CUSTOMER PAYMENTS AND HELPS REGION ACCOUNTING CENTERS ANALYZE AND CORRECT CUSTOMER ACCOUNT BALANCES.-- CANDIDATES FOR THIS POSITION MUST HAVE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS.----ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*--- Applies daily cash receipts received via spreadsheet upload. Applies daily cash received via credit card and electronic media----- Processes AR sub ledger adjustments requested by Region Accounting Centers (e.g. write-offs, misapplications, reclassifications)--- Partners with Region Accounting Centers:o Receives and researches inquiries about customer account balanceso Resolves cash application problemso Responds to requests for copies of cash receipts and reportso Coordinates cash applications cut-offs during month-end accounting closeo Provides process expertise and acts as a learning resource--- Collaborates with team members to identify and drive process improvements--- Reconciles daily bank deposits to AR sub ledger and general ledger--- Performs weekly reconciliations of inter company cash transactions--- Other duties as assigned--- Must be able to work overtime as necessary----*Job duties or responsibilities may be modified as needed to reflect changing priorities and/or work conditions with ABM.--- High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college courses strongly preferred--- Five years experience in cash applications is required--- Experience using ERP system is required; knowledge of JD Edwards is strongly preferred--- Exposure to inter company accounting--- Conceptual understanding of the credit-through-collections process--- Proficiency in Excel--- Experience reading AR aging reports----- 10-key by touch--- Ability to use fundamental business arithmetic (e.g. averages, percentages)----- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively by phone, e-mail or in business memos
